As concerned citizens and responsible parents of six children, we support these critically important model policies to protect all children from inappropriate sexual content at school, and to respect parental rights to determine if their children should be exposed to such content at all.  

Parents should not only maintain the right to make such decisions, they also are in the best position to know and understand what is appropriate for their respective children.  

And so, please ensure that through this document, that there are certain specific actions that every school must take to ensure sexually explicit material is correctly identified and previewed by parents before anything else.  We are concerned that, unless minimum standards are expressly mandated (vice suggestions or examples), many schools will find what they consider to be "work-arounds" what they consider to be mere guidance.
