Model Policies Concerning Instructional Materials with Sexually Explicit Content

I support these model policies that will serve to protect children from inappropriate sexual content at school and to protect parents' discretion with regard to their childrens' exposure to this type of material.  Parents have a fundamental right to make these decisions and are also in the best position to know what is appropriate for their individual children.  Please make sure that sexually explicit materials are correctly identified and seen by parents first.  Unless certain minimum standards are expressly mandated, many schools may find ways around what they consider to be only guidance rather than required protocols.
