Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

Stop imposing CRT in our schools

Dividing and defining children by race is wrong and un-American. Forcing teachers to accept and teach CRT under the innocuous label of “cultural competency” is outrageous. I plan to remove my children from public school if this indoctrination becomes mandatory. Years ago I moved to this area for the academic excellence in public schools. Unfortunately Virginia legislators now prioritizes left wing ideology over academic rigor. The priorities of of our school board are completely out of sync with the values of parents. This proposed guidance is yet another example. I strongly oppose the proposed guidance.

Separately, I recommend limiting each person to one comment. It is obvious to me reviewing the comments that someone who supports the guidance documents simply made numerous repetitive comments in an attempt to exaggerate the level of support.
