Please don’t let the politicized outcry against Critical Race Theory keep Virginia from moving forward with plans to implement the cultural competency requirement for teachers in this state. Cultural competency training will enable teachers to increase empathy for students of all backgrounds and to establish more equity in the classroom. Voices speaking out against this requirement have been misled about what it actually entails. Thank you for your time.
