Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

Indoctrination of teachers and students

I am strongly opposed to the obvious and insidious indoctrination that the Virginia Board of Education has imposed on teachers and students, and the hiding of this indoctrination from parents. You are supposed to be teaching subjects clearly and truthfully, not indoctrinating with a one-sided agenda that lies and denigrates our country. You are supposed to be preparing students for learning reading, history and math so that they can go out into the world being able to think for themselves. That should never have included political, social or cultural indoctrination and leftist agenda. And it should never, ever suppress parents' involvement and knowledge of what you are teaching. Stop this nonsense now!!
