After the most recent election, it has become abundantly clear that the vast majority of Constituents oppose Critical Race Theory. Should this mandate continue from the Federal Government than it is time to reevaluate funding, including both taxes and proffers paid by Developers for attributable impacts such as Schools.
The main purpose of the Every Student Succeeds Act is to ensure public schools are providing quality education. Quality education focuses on core curriculum rather than a theory that has advanced beyond Law School.
Furthermore, labeling children as the Oppressed and Opressor will cause psychological harm and should have no place in our Schools. Addressing truth in history may be accomplished without a "one-size-fits-all" theory that has proven to bring more harm than good within communities with its divisive ideology, that includes stating that we do not have a core identity. While some may believe this, to teach Critical Race Theory would be placing one belief system over another as Christians believe their core identity is in Christ.
A leader within the Critical Race Theory movement has also stated that they reject savior theology as it only breeds bigotry, and align with liberation theology. Once again, to teach Critical Race Theory would be placing one belief system over another and being that the current Administration has sought to disseminate this ideology onto our children, it begs the question if the current Administration is seeking to establish a State Church.
Once and for all, we must remove Critical Race Theory from all Virginia Schools. With such, we should bring history to life by using story telling such as that of Deacon Charles Williams who wrote on His Church being closed in the name of segregation. By bringing history to life, we may address and identify practical solutions so that history does not repeat itself.
