COVID-19 vaccines should not be mandated

The vaccine has only been approved for use for children 12 and older.  Forcing COVID-19 vaccines for all students is an irresponsible notion since that would require vaccinations for unapproved groups.  Furthermore, the FDA states "the observed risk [of the Comirnaty vaccine] is highest in males 12 through 17 years of age", thereby acknowledging there is a present risk.  The FDA is also requiring Pfizer "to further assess the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis following vaccination with Comirnaty", acknowledging that there is no knowledge of long-term side effects.

Vaccines should not be mandated under any circumstance.  Even though the Comirnaty vaccine is approved, the long-term side effects are not well documented and the risk is highest in children.  It is not fair to subject every child to receive a potentially dangerous vaccine.  Parents who want their children vaccinated should do so.  Parents who see the risks of the vaccine and are hesitant should not be forced to vaccinate their children.
