I want to register my whole-hearted support of this proposal!  This change acknowledges that "family" tends to be much more than a nuclear family for most of us -- older parents, children, dependent siblings, partners.  This demonstrates what government, especially the Commonwealth's government, *should* do, which is create a vision of the kind of society we want to become, affirming care and value of the more vulnerable people among us, who cannot always work (or find work) and provide for themselves.  This change will let family step in and help out family and friends when they are in need.  Please pass the bill and thank you!
