It is absolutely necessary that we help correct the existing health disparities present in the United States, and small policy changes such as this one can do much good without any negative effects. The American Medical Association, as well as the American Medical Student Association (of which I am a member), has long supported policies such as this one that can ensure that loved ones who are not our married spouses are able to be insured.

But this is not a political issue. It is a moral one. As a Christian, I believe that all people are entitled to be treated justly and fairly, and this is the morally correct, pro-life decision. Please support this change so that more people can live with the assurance that their loved ones are covered by their health insurance policies.
