Including "otherwise qualified adults" is good business

My life partner's employee-owned company in Arlington wanted to cover me on their health insurance as a domestic partner.  That is against the current law--even for private businesses!  Businesses and government can attract better talent when health insurance coverage includes the "otherwise qualified adults."  Extending access to health care for domestic partners and other qualified adults will attract other businesses to Virginia--and that too is good business.

As a Virginia citizen, resident taxpayer and independent business owner myself, I strongly support the state’s measure to extend access to health insurance coverage to uninsured, eligible members of state employee households who wish to purchase it.
