It has been demonstrated in rigorous studies that people with health insurance get more preventive care than those who do not, and have conditions identified and treated at an earlier stage of development .  It has also been demonstrated that those with insurance make less overall use and more appropriate use of emergency departments, a very expensive care delivery venue.  It's best for individuals, families and communities...yes, ALL of us will be better served if we extend more coverage.  Plus, it's the right thing to do!
