Support for this measure

I support this measure as it expands access to more affordable health care for Virginians. This would help those who are supporting elderly parents, adult children, or who have other adults in their households who they would like to include on their insurance. In this economy, we need to recruit and retain the best and brightest state employees. Having the ability to include other qualified adults on a health care plan keeps us competative with other states and with private universities in our own Commonwealth. Additionally, this measure could help keep people (particularly elderly people) off of Medicaid and other state-supported health care. Providing more Virginians with the opportunity to get insurance at a reasonable cost to themselves is a benefit to us all.
