Fairness, Access, and Competitiveness

I urge the State Legislature to enact this to provide health insurance to other adults living in a household of an employee. There are so many instances where this is crucial. For children of employees  who are young adults past the age of 23 unable to find work in this tough economy, for instance, this is a matter of receiving the healthcare they require or having to pay thousands of dollars for COBRA or other insurance. If they are not insured, this ends up costing the system even more money, as we all pay for the uninsured. We often have family members or significant others living in the household who are self-employed, ill, have been laid off, or otherwise in situations where they cannot receive affordable insurance. It is imperative that we pass this in Virginia to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, quality health insurance. This is a crucial way for us as a State to care for our own, one which benefits everyone; it is economical, competitive., and above all, THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
