I have had to recently make a very difficult decision to leave the state given that my partner could not get benefits through my job at UVA. We could not sustain a life together in this state given the discriminatory laws. I strongly hope the Virginia will catch up to other states in making it possible for same-sex couples live here and contribute to the VA community.
