I gratefully applaud Gov. Kaine's efforts to get insurance coverage to unmarried partners, children, and elderly dependents of State employees. It is unthinkable -- and embarassing -- that such coverage would not be granted in this day and age. The Bible commands us to "do unto others" what we would have others do unto us. I am a wife and mother, in a heterosexual marriage. However, it's not hard to understand that my gay brothers and sisters with families want and deserve the same benefits which my family and I receive.
