Kaine's 11th Hour "Act Fast" Routine Hits Virginia

Not only is this Proposal in violation of the Constitution of Virginia, it is fiscally and morally wrong. First, this Proposal would force additional expenses into the contracting budget for our Commonwealth. While we face the reality of continued budget-cuts and more unemployment in 2010, it is irresponsible for the Governor to consider increasing financial burdens to Virginia's budget. Assuming that future taxpayer dollars would support this Propsal is wrong, too, as many Virginians will object to this proposed methodology to provide healthcare.

Secondly, to redefine "family" and/or "marriage" to fit this proposed healthcare policy is not only irresponsible, it is Constitutionally unfounded. Such a broad-sweeping Proposal that would allow health care based on households and not legal family units will create added expenses, havoc, and lawsuits.  It is obvious that Governor Kaine does not recognize Virginia's "marriage amendment".

Our newly elected Governor will take office in a month and will no doubt retract this 11th hour "act fast" Proposal that out-going Governor Kaine is posturing on.

I welcome our new Governor McDonnell-- we must restore our Constitution and common sense to the Commonwealth.
