Do not expand benefits beyond spouses and children

We passed an amendment to the Virginia Constitution stating that marriage is between a man and a woman.  These additional health care benefits have always been accorded to a person because of marriage, so that the benefits have been extended to spouses and children.  Going outside of marriage to provide health care benefits violates this Constitutional provision and is an attempted end run around the will of the people.  Furthermore, adding additional people for benefits has got to cost more, raising the cost to the taxpayer at a time when Virginia's expenses have got to be reduced, not expanded.
