This change will allow state employees to PAY FOR the additional health coverage of an adult member of his or her household. It will cost the state and its taxpayers nothing. At the same time, it will enable state agencies and universities to compete with other private and public employers in hiring and retaining workers. It will also reduce the number of uninsured or under-insured. So it's good for Virginia and for Virginians. As an added benefit, it's just plain fair. Let's do the right thing.
