Other Adults

The goal:

"Employees are seeing an increasing burden to provide for the health coverage of other adult individuals residing in their home who are not eligible for coverage under the state health program. This will expand coverage to those adult individuals."

Yes, aren't we all.  But adults can take care of themselves, that's why we call them (ourselves) adults.  This proposal may sound like a really nice thing to do, but it isn't normally done this way elsewhere.  So think; why is that?  It's because everyone else (besides deep pockets government) cares about cost.

If there were no increase in cost to the State (no additional subsidies, no additional administrative cost, no additional paper work, no additional regulations on insurance companies which must be enforced, no significant rise in cost to carriers which always flows through to the insured, etc. etc, etc.,), then what would be the purpose for this?  Adults could get equivalent or better on their own, and should do so.

Let Virginia government govern and stop babying adults.
