I am opposed to Gov. Kaine's proposed changes that would expand health care benefits to all those living in the household of state employees. This expansion to health care benefits beyond marriage is a clear violation of the Virginia Constitution. This language to expand to ALL living in the household could be extended to those who are merely sharing living space ( i.e. one person sharing a house with 3 other roommates -- all could be covered under the state employee's benefits.) A plan designed/structured like this is sure to cost the state tax payers more money. This is wrong and should not be expanded! The state needs to run like any other business that covers the employee, their spouse and their dependents only-- NO ONE ELSE!!
