a clear violation of the Constitution of Virginia

First of all let me start with the fact the Gov Kaine is exhibiting a blatant disregard for the will of the people of Virginia. We voted and passed the Marriage Amendmant of 2006 which defines and protects the institution of marriage. An overwhelming consensus of the people of Virginia is that marriage is between one man and one woman, only. No maybe's, might be's, wish we could, how about if, etc.; the marriage ammendment is CLEAR and PRECISE.

How dare the Gov impose his idealistic will upon the people of this state. This is absolutely absurd that we the people of this great state must be forced to pay for the whims of a misguided few. These people deserve our prayers and attention, not our money.

I completely disagree with the proposed expansion if state benefits for the following reasons:

  1. The proposal to expand health care benefits beyond marriage is a clear violation of the Constitution of Virginia.
  2. Such an expansion of benefits, despite claims by proponents, has to increase the cost of health insurance for the state and consequently, the taxpayer.

Thank you,

Pete Lockard
