DO NOT EXPAND HEALTHCARE TO NON-MARRIED or NON-DEPENDANT CO-HABITANTS.
1. The proposal to expand health care benefits beyond marriage is a clear violation of the Constitution of Virginia.
2. Such an expansion of benefits, despite claims by proponents, has to increase the cost of health insurance for the state and consequently, the taxpayer.
3. This amendment will not promote the economic stability of those it is intending to help. Married families are the most ecomomically stable, have lower incidences of crime, etc. than non-married co-habitants. Virginia must maintain its alignment to the Constitution of Virginia.
