I oppose Governor Kaine's expansion of health care benefits for state employees to include not only same-sex partners but anyone living in a house with a state worker. The propsosal to expand health care benefits beyond marriage is a clear violation of the Constitution of Virginia.  The State is already running a deficit.  The administration has wrongly projected state income for the last several years and underestimated costs.  Expansion of health benefits will increase the cost of health insurance for the state and consequently will increase costs to the taxpayer in order to balance the budget.
