Board Description:

The Virginia Lottery is established as an independent agency per ยง 58.1-4003 of the Code of Virginia. The Virginia Lottery Board has the power to adopt regulations governing the establishment and operation of a state lottery, the conduct of sports betting and the conduct of casino gaming in the Commonwealth. The Virginia Lottery's Executive Director is appointed by the Governor and acts as secretary and executive officer of the Board. The Executive Director supervises and administers the operations of the Virginia Lottery in accordance with the provisions of the Virginia Lottery Law and the regulations.
