During the coming months, the Board of Education will undertake its constitutionally mandated responsibility to examine and revise the Standards of Quality (SOQ). These mandated requirements must be met by all public school divisions and the schools within their jurisdictions.
To that end, the Board of Education is seeking public comment regarding the SOQ. The Board wishes to receive the suggestions and concerns of educators, parents, employers, civic and community leaders, and other interested citizens in addressing the needs, priorities, and programs in public schools across the state.

In addition to receiving written comments, the Board of Education will hold public hearings across the state in the early fall. The times, dates, and locations of the hearings will be announced in the near future.
