Pursuant to Acts of Assembly Chapter 688, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will convene an ad hoc work group of stakeholders to assist in drafting amendments to the Small Renewable Energy Permit By Rule regulations to address impacts on prime agricultural soils and forest lands within the program. This group will support DEQ in identifying how prime agricultural soils and forest lands should be addressed and to identify potential mitigation strategies.  We anticipate the group meeting 4-5 times, with meetings to be held in person both in Richmond and in Charlottesville.  Meetings will start in June and will continue throughout the summer of 2022.

If you wish to join this group, notify the department contact listed below in writing by May 30, 2022. Please provide your name, title, address, telephone number, email address, any organization you may represent, and a brief description of your areas of expertise and qualifications. Notification of the composition of the group will be sent only to those selected to participate. Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall: https://townhall.virginia.gov/
