Virginia Electric and Power Company, d/b/a Dominion Energy, has provided the Department of Environmental Quality a notice of intent to submit the necessary documentation for a proposed project modification for the Gloucester Solar Project, in Gloucester, pursuant to Virginia Regulation 9VAC15-60. The project as currently permitted, and constructed, is a 20-megawatt solar farm, located across roughly 203 acres of land on the east side of John Clayton Memorial Highway (Route 14), between Toddsbury Lane (Route 622) and Waverly Lane (Route 694), in Gloucester, VA. The proposed modification consists of a change in the vegetative cover used for final stabilization underneath the solar arrays. Specifically, the project site will be revegetated with a mixture of grasses, consistent with accepted best management practices, to facilitate stabilization of the area and thereby, minimize the risk of erosion.
