The 2026 update to the VDAF Program Guidelines reflects new state budget authority and expanded disaster mitigation funding caps. Key changes include continued authorization of $50 million. Also grant prioritization has been refined to align with state and local floodplain management standards. Funding caps for Bridge and Slope Stabilization Assistance have also been increased to better support infrastructure resilience.
These updates strengthen Virginia’s ability to respond to and mitigate disaster impacts statewide.
