| Purpose of the meeting PURPOSE OF NOTICE: To announce a public hearing on the Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Summary of Public Comments and Responses document for Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation - Waynesboro, a “controversial permit”, in accordance with § 10.1-1184.1 of the Code of Virginia. PUBLIC HEARING: Waynesboro High School Auditorium, 1200 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA on September 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The hearing will last until the last oral comment has been presented or at 9:00 PM, whichever is earlier. PURPOSE OF HEARING: To obtain input only on DEQ’s Summary of Public Comments and Responses document. Only individuals who previously commented, either in person at the draft permit public hearing or in writing during the public comment periods, may speak at this hearing. Comments must be limited to DEQ’s document. No new information will be accepted at the hearing. PERMIT NAME: State Operating Permit No. 81917; Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation - Waynesboro HOW TO COMMENT: DEQ will accept written and oral comments at this public hearing only from individuals who previously commented, either in person at the draft permit public hearing or in writing during the public comment periods. To make a statement at a public hearing regarding DEQ’s document, write your name on a sign-in sheet available at the hearing. You may sign up only for yourself. The time allowed for each statement is set by the hearing officer. If you plan to speak, please bring a written version in case the hearing must end prior to your opportunity to speak. The public may review DEQ’s Summary of Public Comments and Responses document on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall website, the DEQ website, or at the DEQ Office named below.
