| Purpose of the meeting INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING: Staff will be available to answer questions during an informational briefing prior to the public hearing held at the Radford Public Library, Community Meeting Room, 30 W. Main Street, Radford, VA, at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of the public hearing. Questions and comments made during this informational briefing will not be part of the official public comment record. EPA ID NUMBER: VA1210020730 VARIANCE PETITION APPLICANT: Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RAAP) FACILITY NAME AND LOCATION: Radford Army Ammunition Plant, 4050 Peppers Ferry Road, Radford, VA 24143. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The RAAP facility has submitted a petition to the Director for a variance to the requirements of 9 VAC 20-60-264 of the Virginia Hazardous Waste Management Regulations. The RAAP facility requests to exclude a specific waste stream from classification as a solid waste, according to 9VAC 20-60-1390. This variance request will allow the RAAP facility to accept and recycle a hazardous secondary material that will be transferred for reclamation under 40 CFR 261.4(a)(24). HOW TO COMMENT: DEQ accepts comments by hand-delivery, e-mail, or postal mail. All comments must include the name, address and telephone number of the person commenting and be received by DEQ within the comment period. DEQ also accepts written and oral comments at public hearings.
