| Purpose of the meeting The Virginia Board of Education will convene on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the 1st Floor Conference Room at Old City Hall (1001 E. Broad Street #115, Richmond, Virginia 23219). The Board president reserves the right to change the times listed on this schedule depending upon the time constraints during the meetings. The Board of Education will convene in a business session, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of convening this meeting is for the Board to go into executive session under § 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia. Public comment will not be accepted at this time. This meeting will not be livestreamed. Board of Education members will break for lunch. No votes will be taken during lunch, and it is open to the public. The Board will convene in a work session at the conclusion of the business meeting or lunch, whichever ends last. Public comment will not be accepted. The agenda and meeting materials will be available on the meeting page on the VDOE website: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/state-board-data-funding/virginia-board-of-education/board-meetings-agendas-and-minutes/ Board of Education members will meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Native Plate (1203 E Main St, Richmond, VA 23219). Items for the Board agenda may be discussed informally at the dinner. No votes will be taken at dinner, and it’s open to the public. | |||||
