| Purpose of the meeting The Virginia Board of Education announces its upcoming meeting on June 15, 2023. The meeting will be held in the Board Room, located on the 22nd Floor of the James Monroe Building, 101 North 14th Street, Richmond, VA 23219, unless otherwise noted. All meetings are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the VDOE YouTube channel. Due to limited capacity on the 22nd Floor, overflow seating will be available in Conference Room C of the Monroe Building if necessary. The meeting will be livestreamed to the conference room. Please note the security measures for the James Monroe Building.* The agenda and meeting materials are available on the VDOE website here: https://www.doe.virginia.gov/state-board-data-funding/virginia-board-of-education/board-meetings-agendas-and-minutes/june-14-15-2023 The Board of Education will accept public comment in advance of the meeting through the Board of Education Comment Form. This form collects public comments for review by the members of the Board. The Board accepts comments from the public on all matters related to public education in Virginia. Comments may be submitted at any time, but will be collected and shared with Board members as part of the meeting materials for its next scheduled business meeting. The Comment Form may be accessed here: https://forms.office.com/g/ksfTdq2NKq Members of the public may signup to address the Board at one of its scheduled business meetings by using the Board of Education Public Comment Sign-Up Form. Requests to address the Board should be submitted no later than the day before the scheduled business meeting, but may be requested at the meeting at the discretion of the President. The Sign-Up Form may be accessed here: https://forms.office.com/g/vwL5cfsudr For all meetings, persons are encouraged to print items of interest as hard copies will not be available at the meeting site. Wi-Fi is available in the meeting room. *Security Protocols for the James Monroe Building: All visitors to the James Monroe Building must show Photo ID and sign in at the security desk on the first floor. When you arrive, please pass through the security screening, sign-in at the security desk and let them know you are attending the Board of Education meeting. All visitors must have an escort to and from the security desk to the meeting location. Please allow time for these security protocols.
