| Purpose of the meeting The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) formed an ad hoc workgroup to assist in developing regulations regarding criteria to determine mitigation strategies for a significant adverse impact to prime agricultural soils or forest lands as a result of a proposed solar project that is a small renewable energy project. This workgroup will also assist in developing criteria for an applicant of a solar project to address in a plan to mitigate any significant adverse impacts to soils and lands. A list of ad hoc workgroup members is available on the DEQ web page, https://www.deq.virginia.gov/get-involved/hb206-stakeholder-group. The third meeting of this workgroup will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on August 19, 2022 at Hillsdale Conference Center, 550 Hillsdale Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Please note that while this is a public meeting and members of the public are invited to attend, only members of the workgroup will be asked to participate. | |||
