| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comment on an amendment to the Teal-Jones Pine Products, LLC permit in Henry County. The facility is a lumber mill. It is classified as a synthetic minor source of air pollution and would be classified as a major source of air pollution after the amendment. The proposed amendment to the permit would allow the facility to build a continuous dry lumber kiln. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility under the proposed permit are expected to be: 309 tons/yr volatile organic compounds; 186.1 tons/yr carbon monoxide; 67.3 tons/yr nitrogen oxides; 28.8 tons/yr particulate matter; 3.0 tons/yr PM10, 3.0 tons/yr PM2.5; 4.4 tons/yr sulfur dioxide. The applicant proposes to use 38,933 tons/yr of wet wood and sawdust for fuel in the continuous dry kiln. There is no anticipated effect on air quality near the facility from the proposed project. An informational briefing will be held prior to the public hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m. | |
