| Purpose of the meeting A public briefing at 5:30 p.m.to inform the public with a public hearing to follow to receive public comment on the Blue Ridge Airport Authority's request to the Department of Aviation to amend the licensed length of the current Runway 13-31 from a 5,002 foot C-II runway to a 6,000 foot D-II runway. Other infrastructure associated with the runway extension includes the extension of the parallel taxiway, associated exit taxiways, Runway Object Free Area (ROFA), Runway Safety Area (RSA), relocation of Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS), lighting, grading, realignment of Route 698, land acquisition, easement acquisition, shift of the Runway 13 end west, and development of approaches to the runway.
