| Purpose of the meeting Pursuant to Chapter 1283 of the 2020 Acts of Assembly, the Virginia Board of Education will convene electronically on Thursday, May 7 at 1 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to transact the business statutorily required or necessary to continue the operations of the Board. Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus health emergency, the meeting will proceed under modified procedures. The meeting is open to the public for viewing. Due to capacity limitations on the Zoom platform, the meeting will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrbxl9wHScrWKWIEoUWNIfQ/videos. You may also view the live stream from the Board’s public meeting webpage at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/boe/meetings/index.shtml#business . Click on the May 7, 2020 play live video link. Oral public comment will not be accepted, however, written public comment is always accepted on the Board’s email account at BOE@doe.virginia.gov. Written public comment received by 5:00p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 will be posted on the Board’s May 7, 2020 public meeting webpage.
