| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing on a draft permit amendment for Volvo Group North America, LLC New River Plant's prevention of significant deterioration permit. Volvo Group North America, LLC has applied for a significant amendment to the permit to modify the New River Plant’s existing integrated cab and plastics paint line to accommodate additional processing of Mack truck cabs. The project is subject to major new source review for VOC, PM10 and PM2.5. The facility is classified as a major source of air pollution and is located in Dublin. Modeling has shown that the proposed project does not cause or significantly contribute to a predicted violation of any applicable NAAQS or Class II area PSD increment. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility after the proposed project are expected to be: VOC (944.5 tons/yr), PM (43.2 tons/yr), PM10 (43.2 tons/yr), PM2.5 (43.2 tons/yr), NOx (46.0 tons/yr), and CO (38.64 tons/yr). The technologies that will be used to control the air pollution from the facility are low NOx burners, dry filters, venturi wet scrubbers, concentrators, and regenerative thermal oxidizers. No adverse impact on air quality near the facility is expected from this proposed project. | |
