| Purpose of the meeting PURPOSE OF NOTICE: The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announces that an Information Session will be held to discuss water and solid waste permitting processes associated with the closure of the Dominion Virginia Power – Chesapeake Energy Center Industrial Waste Landfill and adjacent coal Bottom Ash Pond pursuant to the 2015 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) final rule that regulates the disposal of coal combustion residuals (CCR). INFORMATION SESSION: DEQ staff will be available to answer questions during an information session. Questions and comments made during this information session will not be part of the official public comment record. DESCRIPTION: An information session concerning the water and solid waste permitting processes associated with the closure of the Dominion Virginia Power – Chesapeake Energy Center Industrial Waste Landfill and adjacent coal Bottom Ash Pond pursuant to a 2015 U.S. EPA final rule that regulates the disposal of CCR. This meeting is not part of the required public participation process for the water and solid waste permitting actions associated with the closure. This meeting is intended to supplement those processes and allow the public an opportunity to ask DEQ questions. Questions and comments made during this information session will not be part of the official public comment record. | |
