| Purpose of the meeting The Virginia Division of Mineral Mining (DMM) will hold an informal public hearing to receive comments regarding a proposed mining operation in Orange County. Persons attending the hearing may present written and/or oral statements, photographs, or other evidence to the hearing officer. The hearing will be recorded.The permit applicant, General Shale Products LLC, has submitted a complete application package, which is available for review in the DMM office located at 900 Natural Resources Drive, Charlottesville, VA. Special accommodations for the disabled will be made available at the hearing on request.
