Purpose of legislation
Item 293.C of the 2025 Appropriation Act directed the State Board/DBHDS and Board of Counseling/DHP to create a Peer Recovery Specialist Trainee (PRS-T) designation to allow individuals to bill for their services while working toward the 500 hours of experience necessary for certification.as a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS).
