Mandate Title:
Amend regulations related to use of intelligent personal assistants at nursing facilities and hospitals

Purpose of legislation
Requires the State Board of Health to promulgate regulations requiring hospitals, nursing homes, and certified nursing facilities to establish and implement policies ensuring access and use of intelligent personal assistants provided by patients while receiving inpatient services. The policies have to protect health information in accordance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
