Summary |
The purpose of this protocol is to establish the Department of Health, Division of Shellfish Sanitation’s protocol for responding to oil contamination of Virginia’s shellfish waters. The objective of such a response would be to protect consumers of Virginia shellfish and crab meat from oil contamination with the least reasonable impact upon the fisheries. The primary emphasis of this working memo pertains to oil spills of potential, widespread contamination. |
