Stage:
On 3/17/2020 the board requested that this
emergency stage be extended until 12/5/2020.
Reason for Extension:
In order to replace the emergency regulation for autonomous practice for nurse practitioners, the final amendments would need to be submitted to the Registrar by April 8, 2020. They are currently awaiting approval in the Secretary's office. Given the state of emergency in the Commonwealth, it is unlikely that consideration will be given to approval of regulations. Allowing this emergency regulation to expire would result in the Board's inability to approve nurse practitioners for independent practice, which would not be in the interest of public health and safety.
This emergency extension request was approved by the Governor's office on 5/22/2020.
