Clostridium Difficle Toxins A&B (CDIFF)

Prior to contracting Clostridum Difficle Toxins A&B on Aug 30, 2005 when I underwent a complete hysterctomy at one of the local hospitals I was an otherwise normal healthy person of 45.  This can be a deadly disease and a long battle to overcome. I have been all over the U.S. trying to get better ever since.  Despite many course of Vancomycin and other treatments; it is now wwo years later I and still have reoccuring CDIFF.  As the disease has not been reportable here in Virginia the state does not have any idea of how many individuals have been effected by this debilitating disease.  Formerly, the disease use to be more prominent in the elderly, nursing homes and hospitals.  It is now showing up everywhere in the local communities.

By enforcing the medical community to make this a reportable disease Virginia may finally see how widespread it has become in recent years.  By making it reportable we may then begin to take corrective measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

THE CDC IS NOW REQUIRING THAT ALL STATES REPORT THE STATISTICS ON THEIR TRANSMISSION AND INFECTION RATES, VIRGINIA MUST MAKE THIS A MANDATORY PRACTICE FOR THE HOSPITALS AND PHYSICIANS.

THIS IS A NONSOCMIAL DISEASE CONTRACTED MOSTLY TRHOUGH THE HANDS OF HEALTH CARE PERSONNEL.

The physicians do not want to believe I still have reoccuring cdiff, but as an individual who has suffered for over 2 years now with the symptoms I still continue to suffer with the symptoms.  My body has now been accustomed to the illness and I am learning to live with the daily symptoms.   Due to my illness my life has changed completely over the last few years.  As ill as I am I continue to try to go to work as I need the the health insurance.
