I am writing in support of SEL (definition pasted below.)I cannot for the life of me understand why we as parents would not want to teach our children empathy, kindness, understanding, and emotional intelligence! Let’s give our kids an opportunity to grow and seek to understand one another, maybe even more successfully than their parents have managed to do? 

What is SEL?

The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) defines social and emotional learning (SEL) as “the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”
