I'm a retired educator with 35 years of experience at the elementary level.  Please do not adopt the SEL standards as they tend to burden already overstressed teachers with subjects that are already addressed informally in the classroom and playground.  We do not need the government telling us and our children what is advantaged vs. disadvantaged or what biases they may or may not have.  Stay out of it.  Focus on academics.
