Hi Jeff… first off, kudos for all you do for fishermen of the Shenandoah region… you should be commended for not only involving yourself with these regulations, but reporting first hand from the field, day to day data that backs up your thoughts on the issues at hand in this area.
My name is Don Owen, 4119 Sharp Road, Glenelg MD
I used to fish predominantly for smallmouth in the upper Potomac – Mostly Lander, Whites/Edwards, shepherdstown areas; Susquehanna (around Duncannon), and occasionally in the upper Shenandoah. Predominantly a wet wader and kayak fisherman, but based on so much bad pub on fish kills on these rivers, and my subsequent fishing results on these rivers (mostly the Potomac), I don’t fish anymore. It’s probably been 3 years since I’ve fished the Shenandoah, and 2 years since I’ve fished the upper Potomac and Susquehanna.
The pending regulations are a step in the right direction, but they’ll only be as effective as the field monitoring system allows. Keep up the good work, and although my current work situation keeps me very busy, let me know if I can be of service down the road.
Thanks!
Don
