It is quite fascinating how the trajectory of this issue has rapidly exploded in today's culture. During the 1970's the Psychiatric Journal (DSM3) acknowledged gender dysphoria as a mental illness. But today, that has now been reversed. As a believer in Jesus Christ and one who also believes that the Bible is accurate in its assessment of the human condition, I am now the one with the mental issue. Because I know there is a God who will ultimately have the final say, I pray for politicians and policy makers who diametrically oppose HIs directives. I am also so sorry that His children are too often considered bigots for not agreeing with current perspective of the times.
While I am not expecting anything to change with this comment, I do find it remarkable that far too many Christians today are unwilling to speak out about these issues. Maybe far too many believe that political correctness trumps biblical correctness. Rather than a backbone to stand in opposition, too many parents have wishbones, believing that acceptance of alternative lifestyles will not harm their children.
I hope that parents and grandparents will come to realize and make correct decisions about the education of the children. The Educational Department making directives for Virginia schools is catering to the few at the expense of far too many.
