Strong support for continued Backflow Cert requirement.

I am a Journeyman HVACR mechanic and HVACR Instructor.
My view is that Backflow certifications and training are very important to the health and safety of the citizens of Virginia.
Cross connections in domestic/potable water applications need trained/certified technicians for inspection/repair. I have personally experienced hydronic heating/cooling makeup water lines tied into potable water supplies without any backflow devices in place. As a result, I always advise my customers/contracts to be aware of their potable/hydronic/process water supplies and their source connections. Deregulation/removal of required training/certification for backflow devices would simply put more Virginians at risk.

Thank you for reading my comment & have a good day.
