STRONG SUPPORT for the continued licensure of landscape architects and wetland delineators.

I strongly support the continued licensure of landscape architects and wetland delineators for the protection of public health, safety, and welfare. The work performed by a certified wetland delineator ensures that the work is performed by a person with the proper qualifications, AND those certified delineators are bound to perform the work under stringent ethical and professional standards. Additionally, licensure of landscape architects ensures that untrained individuals are prevented from engaging in professional practice that substantially (or significantly) impacts public health, safety and welfare. Licensed landscape architects fulfill educational training and examination requirements that prepare professionals to protect the public from both physical and monetary harm.
